China's yuan touched a near one-week low against the dollar on Monday, with onshore spot trading around 6.48 per dollar after the PBOC set a weaker midpoint. A weaker yuan makes Chinese buying of dollar-priced feed imports more expensive, which can temper demand at the margin. The effect on grain prices is modest unless the currency move persists.
