A truckers' strike halted grain truck deliveries to the Bahia Blanca port, which is handling more export volume because of low water at Rosario. Forty ships were reported waiting to load 1.2 million tonnes of corn, wheat and soymeal.
Some terminals had already run out of grain.
Stalled loadings delay Argentine corn and soymeal exports at the height of the export season, tightening near-term supply to importers. Higher trucking and logistics costs lift the prices exporters pay farmers and the prices they charge buyers.
