USDA announced the April Federal order Class III milk price at $24.42 per hundredweight, up $1.97 from March and the highest since July 2020. The April Class IV price set a new record at $25.31 per cwt.
Record milk prices raise farm-level dairy returns, but rising feed, fuel and fertilizer costs are eating into margins, which shapes dairy herd decisions and demand for dairy-linked feed.
