‘Full of more holes than Swiss cheese’? Europe accused of watering down its deforestation due diligence regulation

Environmental groups accused EU Environment Ministers of significantly watering down the deforestation due diligence regulation after the Council backed the Commission proposal with carve-outs. The Council's position covers palm oil, beef, timber, coffee, cocoa and soy and their derived products.

The article questions whether the revised rules can still curb deforestation in these supply chains.
