The baht opened at 36.29 per dollar on August 29, weakening from Friday's close of 36.03. Analysts expected the dollar to strengthen on expectations of a 0.75 percentage point Federal Reserve hike in September.
Falling gold prices were also cited as a drag on the baht.
A weaker baht raises the local-currency cost of dollar-priced imported feed ingredients such as soybean meal and corn, which adds to feed cost pressure in Thailand.
