DTN's retail survey shows most US fertilizer prices trending lower into early November 2022, with urea at $826/ton and DAP at $930/ton. Only 10-34-0 moved significantly, down 7% month over month.
The Fertilizer Institute urged Congress to act against a potential rail strike that could embargo fertilizer shipments about five days before it begins.
Softening retail prices reflect weaker demand, but a rail strike threat could tighten fertilizer supply quickly and reverse the decline. Buyers should weigh the downtrend against that logistics risk.
