The ringgit weakened further against the US dollar on April 26, tracking other Asian currencies. The dollar firmed on expectations of higher US interest rates and safe-haven demand after weak US corporate earnings and consumer confidence data.
A weaker ringgit raises the local-currency cost of imported feed ingredients for Malaysian buyers. The move reflects broad dollar strength rather than a change in Malaysia-specific supply or demand.
