US egg prices are falling from record highs as the industry recovers from a major avian flu outbreak. USDA wholesale quotes for a dozen eggs have dropped to roughly $0.99 to $1.39, far below the earlier spring peak near $5.
Rebuilding layer flocks and easing disease pressure increase egg supply, pushing prices lower; feed buyers may see reduced layer-feed demand pressure only marginally, as flock rebuilding gradually lifts corn and soymeal demand.
