The July WASDE surprised grain markets with higher US wheat, corn and soybean yield and supply forecasts. September Chicago wheat fell 4.2% to $6.33 and December corn dropped 3.9%, while August soybeans lost 2%.
Global wheat stocks were revised down about 900,000 tonnes from June.
Upward US supply revisions and a sharp drop in futures prices signal a bearish near-term outlook for grains, partly offset by slightly lower global wheat stocks.
