Coceral's third 2024 forecast put EU27 and UK soft wheat production at 134.5 million tonnes, down from 139.9 million last year. Barley was forecast at 59.9 million tonnes, also below the prior forecast and 2023's total, with downward revisions in France and Germany.
A smaller EU wheat and barley crop than last year reduces export availability and supports feed grain prices.
