Indonesian state agency Bulog issued its seventh tender of 2024 to buy about 350,000 tonnes of 5% broken white rice for September-October delivery. Results are due September 5, and Pakistan and Thailand are expected to compete as Vietnamese supplies dwindle.
A large state import tender tightens export availability and supports Asian rice prices, especially as Vietnamese supply shrinks.
