Marketplace reports that more than 300 agricultural groups urged Congress to negotiate a new farm bill before the extension deadline at month-end. Farmers expect to sell this year's harvest at a loss as high yields for corn, soybeans and wheat push prices down while costs rise.
Large harvests and low prices reinforce bearish feed grain pricing, and the lack of a farm safety net adds pressure on producer selling decisions.
