Analysts expected the rupiah to strengthen only modestly on October 31 after weaker-than-expected US third-quarter GDP growth of 2.8%. Stronger-than-expected ADP employment data of 233,000 jobs was seen limiting the gains.
A softer US growth outlook can ease dollar strength over time, but the stronger jobs data keeps near-term dollar support in place for dollar-priced feed imports.
