Analysts expect the ringgit to trade lower after Malaysia's Budget 2025 reaffirmed a deficit target of 3.8% of GDP for 2025. The ringgit was weighed down during the week by a strong US dollar as the Fed signaled caution on rate cuts.
Budget discipline supports the ringgit only modestly, and a firm dollar keeps Asian currency pressure in place, which affects the cost of imported feed inputs for regional buyers.
