Analysts expect the ringgit to restart its rally toward 4.15 per dollar by the fourth quarter on further central bank easing, with Malayan Banking forecasting 4.10 by December. MUFG expects a 1.5 per cent gain as a US tariff deal boosts Malaysia's export competitiveness.
The ringgit is at its strongest level in nearly a year.
A stronger ringgit raises the ringgit cost of Malaysian palm oil exports, which can support palm oil prices in dollar terms. The forecast reflects expected rate cuts and trade-deal effects rather than a new supply shock.
