Ukrainian agricultural exports slowed sharply as ship calls halted due to lack of shipping safety guarantees. As of July 23, Ukraine had exported 3 million tonnes of agricultural products, led by about 1.3 million tonnes of corn and 955 thousand tonnes of wheat.
Exporters have stopped sending cargo by road and rail, and cargo is accumulating at ports.
Halted sea shipments and stalled rail and truck flows reduce Ukrainian corn and wheat availability to world markets, supporting prices for these grains and related feed.
