The American Feed Industry Association hosted an educational program at IPPE for more than 150 attendees on the spread of HPAI and African swine fever. Speakers said the 2022 HPAI virus was spreading farm to farm and increasingly through wildlife, and urged feed mills to tighten foot-traffic controls and carcass disposal.
Stronger biosecurity at feed mills reduces the risk of disease-driven flock losses that would cut poultry feed demand. The direct price effect from this educational event is limited.
