USDA confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza in a commercial broiler flock in Johnson County, Arkansas, affecting about 109,000 birds, with 55 HPAI cases in commercial poultry in November and three more reported in early December. France ordered a third vaccine dose for ducks in high-risk areas after raising its HPAI risk level to high, and two more bluetongue cases were found in UK cattle.
Poultry losses and vaccination-related trade restrictions tighten chicken supply and support prices for poultry feed demand, while disease in cattle adds to livestock uncertainty.
