Malaysian palm oil futures edged up in early trade on 10 February 2022 after Indonesia widened its export permit requirement to more palm products. The regulation now requires exporters to sell 20% of planned exports domestically at a price cap, and it covers derivatives as well as crude palm oil and olein.
Malaysia's January palm stocks fell 3.85% to 1.55 million tonnes.
Broader Indonesian export permits restrict supply to world markets, which supports palm prices, and the drop in Malaysian stocks reinforces that support.
