Malaysia kept its December 2023 crude palm oil export duty at the maximum 8% and raised the reference price to 3,589.09 ringgit per ton from 3,556.08 for November. The duty structure tops out at 8% when prices exceed 3,450 ringgit.
A maximum duty keeps Malaysian crude palm oil export margins tight and supports refined oil pricing in importing markets, while the higher reference price signals firm palm prices.
