Clean Fuels Alliance America CEO Donnell Rehagen argues that EPA's 2026-2027 RFS volumes benefit American farmers by supporting domestic demand for feedstocks. The piece cites a North Dakota State University study estimating $14.9 billion in annualized lost US farm sales to China from March 2025 to February 2026, with soybean farmers absorbing about $6.8 billion of that.
It says the rule supports higher commodity prices.
Stronger domestic biofuel demand for soybean oil and feedstocks offers a partial offset to lost export sales to China. It supports the case for domestic crush and oil prices.
