Chinese customs data show soybean imports in November 2022 fell 14.2% year on year to 7.35 million tonnes. Corn imports in October were 5.8% lower than a year earlier, while wheat and palm oil imports rose.
Year-to-date soybean imports reached 80.53 million tonnes.
Lower Chinese soybean and corn imports reduce global demand for these grains and put downward pressure on prices. Rising wheat and palm oil imports partly offset the weakness in feed grains.
