China's soybean imports from the United States fell 63% in July from a year earlier to 142,150 metric tons. Brazilian shipments rose 32% to 9.23 million tons as Chinese buyers took advantage of a bumper crop and lower prices.
US corn imports into China also fell 42.4% year on year in July.
Shifting Chinese buying toward cheaper Brazilian soybeans and corn weighs on US export demand and prices for those crops.
