Beijing is expected to publish its 2024 tariff-rate import quotas in early October, likely after the National Day holiday. Analysts expect roughly 9.636 million tonnes of wheat, 7.2 million tonnes of corn and 5.32 million tonnes of rice, with grains facing a 65% tariff outside quota.
Quota levels determine how much grain China can import at low tariffs, so any change will shift global wheat, corn and rice demand and prices.
