The Brazilian real has weakened nearly 12% against the U.S. dollar this year, showing some relief since the prior week. The central bank reportedly had no reason to intervene in the foreign exchange market despite the accelerated weakening.
Without FX intervention the real's depreciation continues to make Brazilian soybean and corn exports more competitive, adding export pressure on world feed grain and meal prices.
