The Chinese yuan has surged to around its strongest level against the US dollar since the August 2015 devaluation. The move was driven by an unexpectedly prolonged softening of the dollar.
A firmer yuan makes dollar-priced feed imports cheaper for China, which can support demand for US soybeans and meal. The softer dollar also tends to lift dollar-quoted grain prices.
