Innovative Applications

Currently there are approximately 20 Billion pounds of wet feathers generated from US-based poultry processing plants annually; this amount increasing each year with the increase in consumption of poultry, and four times that amount being generated worldwide. Typically, in the US, this bio-waste is being processed into a 'Low Nutritional Value' animal feed ingredient, and unfortunately in many other countries is simply being thrown into landfills, creating serious ecological challenges.

Featherfiber Corporation takes those poultry feathers and transforms them into clean, unique and extremely useful fiber material products, namely: Featherfiber, Feather-wool, Carbonized Featherfiber and Feather-wool, plus High Molecular Weight Liquid Poultry Keratin (HMW-LPK), for applications ranging from composite materials for construction, automotive, marine, aircraft manufacturing, military, textiles, and renewable energy to a number of applications in cosmetic, hair care and pharmaceutical markets.
