The Trump administration said it will stop granting sanctions waivers to countries still importing Iranian crude after May 2. Oil settled up about 2.7% to a near six-month high, with Brent at $74.04.
The move could remove about 1 million barrels per day from the market, a major supply shock that pushes crude prices up.
