US stocks and Bitcoin hit record highs and the dollar posted its biggest gain in eight years after Trump was re-elected. The dollar rose about 1.65% against a basket including the pound, euro and yen, while the euro fell 1.89%.
Markets are pricing in tariffs and tax cuts that could lift inflation and delay rate cuts, which keeps the dollar firm and makes US commodities more expensive for overseas buyers.
