A four-day strike closed East and Gulf Coast container ports and left nearly 60 ships queued to unload, several carrying feed ingredients such as palm products, vitamins and amino acids. Vitamin A, E and D3 prices rose recently, and some suppliers are considering allocating shrinking inventories, while amino acids remain well supplied with stable prices.
Port backlogs delay feed ingredient deliveries and tighten already scarce palm products and vitamins, supporting higher costs for feed manufacturers, while SBM prices are firming slowly.
