Diesel futures fell for a third straight day, giving back part of a four-week rally that added about 60 cents per gallon. India's Reliance said it stopped buying Russian oil for its refinery after US sanctions on Rosneft, and the US expanded sanctions on Iranian oil sales.
Sanctions on Russian and Iranian crude supply tighten distillate availability and support diesel prices. The pullback reflects hopes for a Ukraine peace deal, though the odds appear low.
