US wheat futures fell sharply on Thursday despite confirmation that China bought 120,000 tons of US wheat. Chicago SRW December lost 19.25 cents to 535.50 cents per bushel and Kansas City HRW December fell 17.75 cents.
Euronext December wheat lost 2.25 euros to 192.00 euros per tonne, and the USDA weekly export data was again unavailable due to the shutdown.
Profit taking after the China purchase confirmation and missing export data signal limited near-term support, with prices pressured lower across US and European wheat.
