China announced additional tariffs of up to 15% on US goods from March 10, covering corn, wheat, cotton, soybeans, sorghum and other agricultural products. The move follows US tariff increases on Chinese imports that took effect the same day.
Market sources said the near-term impact on grain imports looks limited.
Higher duties on US corn, sorghum and soybeans reduce China's demand for US feed grains, a bearish factor for US export-linked prices, though short-term effects are seen as limited.
