The US dollar recovered on Wednesday as investors sought safe-haven assets and US equities fell. The euro and British pound each lost more than 1%, with the euro at $0.9852 and sterling at $1.1268, as markets priced a smaller expected Fed hike.
A firmer dollar makes US commodities more expensive for non-US buyers, which tends to weigh on US export demand and dollar-denominated grain and meal prices.
