The EIA reported average US diesel rose 3.4 cents to a 2016 high of $2.527 per gallon for the week of December 19, the fourth straight weekly gain. Diesel is up 24.3 cents year over year while WTI was trading near $51.93.
Rising diesel lifts freight and fuel surcharges paid by feed companies and farmers, supporting delivered feed costs.
