Rabobank says new waves of H5N8 avian influenza across Europe, Asia and Africa could disrupt poultry trade and breeding stock supply as northern hemisphere winter raises disease risk. Outbreaks are continuing and the Netherlands' reopening for exports to China has been delayed.
Trade disruption from outbreaks can shift meat and breeding stock flows and weigh on exporter prices, while poultry feed demand could soften if flock losses grow. Broiler prices were rising, so the risk is mainly to the price outlook.
