Oil World expects Canadian canola plantings to rise by less than 10 percent in spring, at the expense of wheat, as farmers seek to sell before vegetable oil prices fall. The firm forecasts palm output will rebound significantly by 2018, potentially causing a severe global price drop.
ICE canola futures have gained about 15 percent since August.
Expected acreage gains add future canola supply, while forecast palm oil recovery points to lower vegetable oil prices and weaker canola values later in 2017.
