Reuters reports that Malaysia's curbs on ringgit non-deliverable forwards have triggered a flood of money leaving the country's bond market. The ringgit had been the weakest currency in emerging Asia last year after the yuan.
Capital outflows weaken the ringgit, which raises the local-currency cost of imported feed inputs and can pressure Malaysian palm oil and feed demand.
