How to Raise Oil Prices Without Really Cutting

The IEA and OPEC estimated that global oil supply fell by only about 1.3 to 1.5 million barrels per day in January, a reduction of just over 1 percent. OPEC's forecast indicates that its January output level still leaves global supply above demand in the first quarter.

重要性

If the cut is small relative to the surplus, it limits the upside for crude prices, which in turn caps biofuel margins and energy-linked feed costs. Markets may view the supply response as insufficient.
