Rabobank's Global Poultry Quarterly says avian influenza has shaken the global poultry outlook for 2017. Chinese live broiler prices fell 50% from early Q3 2016 as human bird flu cases rose and consumers shifted away from wet markets.
Trade restrictions remain on poultry from Europe and the US.
Weak Chinese prices and trade bans reduce global poultry export demand and push down poultry prices. Lower poultry output in exporting regions can reduce demand for feed grains and meal over time.
