USDA's monthly report showed February 2017 US milk production at 16.70 billion pounds, down 1.2% year over year but up 2.3% after adjusting for the leap year. Cow numbers rose to 9.37 million head.
Adjusted milk output still growing and rising cow numbers keep dairy supply heavy, which pressures cheese and other dairy product prices.
