The ECB kept its key interest rates unchanged at its 27 April 2017 meeting and confirmed net asset purchases of 60 billion euros per month through December 2017 or beyond if necessary. Draghi said the euro area recovery is becoming increasingly solid and downside risks have diminished, while underlying inflation remains subdued.
Continued ECB easing supports a weaker euro versus the dollar, which tends to make dollar-priced US commodities relatively cheaper for European buyers and supports euro-area feed demand.
