In Ukrainian ports continues to become cheaper grain transshipment

Surplus grain transshipment capacity at Ukrainian ports, including new COFCO, Bunge and Risoil terminals, has pushed handling charges down to an average of about $12/t from $18-22/t 5-10 years ago. Analysts expect a second phase of reductions of $1-2/t, and Russian port costs have also fallen to $16-17/t.

Lower Black Sea handling costs improve export competitiveness for Ukrainian and Russian grain, which can support farmgate prices and lower delivered costs for importers in the new season.
