China's corn imports from the US rose because domestic corn supply may be tight in the second quarter of 2017, particularly in South China. Ukraine is also shifting its corn exports toward the Middle East and new markets.
Expected tight Chinese supply supports import demand in the near term, but the seasonal import drop after that would reduce US corn export demand.
