Australian feed grain prices rallied more than A$25/tonne in the first two weeks of June on disappointing weather for recently sown crops. Growers are holding old-crop stocks, and ABARES forecasts Australian 2017/18 wheat output at 24.19 Mt, down 30% from the prior bumper year.
Dry planting conditions and a smaller forecast wheat crop support feed grain prices, and buyers face firmer markets until rain arrives on the grain belt.
