Vietnamese rice prices rose in domestic and export markets on strong demand and limited supply. Jasmine rice reached $565-570 a tonne and 5% broken was quoted at $410-420, with Bangladesh and the Philippines planning purchases.
Import commitments from Bangladesh and the Philippines, combined with farmers holding stock, support firmer Vietnamese export offers and higher Asian rice benchmarks.
