Brent and WTI spot prices recovered their losses after the dovish FOMC, despite a US crude inventory draw of 7.2 million barrels against an expected 2.6 million. Analysts cited Saudi production cuts and possible Venezuelan financial trouble as supportive factors.
Prices were held near $50 a barrel.
A large inventory draw and OPEC supply restraint support crude prices, which feed into diesel, fertilizer and freight costs. Price gains beyond that depend on whether the draws continue.
