Cool weather in the Corn Belt has slowed corn and soybean crop maturity, with weekly temperatures at least 5°F below normal in parts of the upper Midwest. Hurricane Harvey brought 10 to 30 inches of rain to southeast Texas and Louisiana.
Delayed maturity raises frost risk and lengthens the window for yield losses before harvest, a modest bullish factor for corn and soybeans.
