India's basmati rice exports may fall to a three-year low of about 3.79 million tonnes in the year starting April 1, a decline of up to 5 percent. The drop is linked to a tighter EU fungicide rule and firmer local prices.
Lower Indian basmati exports reduce supply to the world market, which supports international rice prices, while firmer domestic prices reflect tighter Indian supply.
