Texas Cattle Feeders Association CEO Ross Wilson forecast fed cattle averaging $119/cwt in 2018's close and $114 in 2018, with cash fed and feeder cattle both projected down $5-6. CattleFax expects the US to add 700,000 beef cows in 2018 and 200,000 in 2019.
Herd rebuilding will raise beef supply and pressure cattle prices unless exports grow. Feeder and fed cattle buyers should plan for lower prices over the coming year.
